Curiosity killed the cat

 an accident or murder?

 suicide must be discounted..

dp : Through the far reaches of time the human species has been struggling to survive and evolve.

The only tools at their disposal, their wits and most importantly their curiosity.

What, How, Why the main questions that drive any kind of development, either cognitive or

practical. max : including writing anything effectively.

Good strategy when and where a written manifestation of our ideas, thoughts, opinions and

evaluations are called for. The mix of the questions, their timing, place and register though

crucial aspects often overlooked can be fatal in exams, in life generally not to mention our

mental health. Curious about what? How far, long..?

dp : Discoveries and inventions have been the cornerstone of human growth for millions of years.

From the discovery

of fire and the invention of the wheel to the discovery of birthing stars and the imagining of

the James Web Telescope, the human mind in its infinite capacity for creation and creativity

has been moving history forward. max : However, no matter how spectacular it looks in hindsight,

it literally has taken forever, it seems, to crack the basics particularly for the collective, so

perhaps a certain kind of curiosity that the motto implies deserves a warning and that is,

you resemble a cat more than the usual dump human version. It’s well known that it takes a

considerable level of extremity for a cat to be killed - 7 at least seriously over the cliff leaps!

Do cats dream? Do all people dream? What, Why, How, When and Where?

dp : While becoming civilized and forming communities, there have always been those labeled

as dreamers, eccentrics or even downright mad due to ideas and theories not ready to be adopted

by said societies. Individuals scorned or even prosecuted for the utter nerve of forming

thoughts unacceptable to the status quo of the time.

Leaders in history, not tolerating their power or authority questioned, have always devised ways

to establish control and placate the masses. The formation of religion and norms are prime

examples of how imagination and innovation have been moderated  throughout the ages.

Moderated though, not silenced, since there have always been minds that transcend established

rules and facts.

max : Nevertheless, when the cat got out of the bag all devised ways got thrown out of the

window and gone straight to a devil's party of hell on the loose. dp : Extraordinary measures

could never halt extraordinary intellects, but the same can not be said for the max : personal

security integrity and downright existence. Pretty effective for the dp : average person, yes.

The majority of any given population has an average or below average intellect, which

has been deliberately cultivated by restricting access to max :  knowledge and by being

propagandised with isolated pieces of information, often false dp : information.

max : Popular sayings dp : Axioms like “curiosity killed the cat” aim to instill limitations in human

consciousness resulting in malleable citizens prime for indoctrination. max : Obedient kids,

students, workers dp : Half empty vessels ready to be filled with notions constructed and

approved by the few, who consider themselves worthy keepers of knowledge max : currently

referenced as the Elites, dp : consequently designing a pliable society.

In the digital era however, such practices have become less effective. In the time of the

internet and social media, information and the exchange of ideas has become a real issue

for those struggling to maintain power. Ways of tackling the problem range from partial

censorship to complete and utter suppression of sites and applications considered inappropriate

for the  max : Regime, the Establishment or the dp : ethos of each country.

A growing percentage of users, formerly utilizing such sites and applications just for

entertainment, perceive this as the veiled attempt for control that it is. New applications and

media are founded every day, giving refuge to those who dare to, in their own way, make a stand.

Never before heard voices are emerging, contradicting the narration fed to the people.

Throughout time there have always been moments that define the course of history. Revolutions,

max : are a bloody manifestation of intellectual leaps who dared to bring new curious ideas to

the forefront of society and create new realities. So, yes many cats have been killed by curiosity

you may say but so few and far between considering the where and the when and the scale of

things in the Cosmos. A fatal curiosity that describes the untimely odd and weird handling of

affairs. The meddling caused by the avid desire to control anything but this very desire to

conquer and know it all-YES this curiosity can be lethal. Therefore, to do justice beneath

the obvious message in the motto lies a fair warning, an axiom; everything in moderation.

We are not cats, we can come up with the right algorithm for curiosity.

dp : In this time and age a revolution max : should dp : will be neither intellectual nor

bloody. It max : is already dp : will be digital. max : The challenges regarding censorship,

ownership of anything of value, Justice and freedom are taken to a different arena

where more than ever it takes a real cat out of us with its relentless yet self-regulated and

timely curiosity to discover and transform our lives. It’s a journey alright, through the fog of

an era which can be as deceptive and seductive as all in the past, put together since the

virtual-real-unreal-fake issues, will be like fire, it catches fast,  spreads even faster and

burns absolutely. The internet, its weaponization, the digitisation of life are here to stay but it

means nothing without the people their faces, smiles, touches, smells and sounds their freedom

to choose to be curious about choices and meanings.
