A protest cause without a second thought

I find myself quite compassionate about

kids and the way adults benefit from them.

Over the last 5 years, while social media

platforms have been growing and taking

up so much time of our actual time,

families, in particular, mothers are

used to showing off their children on

those platforms. Kids are promoting

products and making content before

they learn how to walk and talk.

Mothers are right behind them to

record every minute of their lives.

Their digital footprint is bigger than

their age and every single information is

used in order to make one more video,

one more piece of content for their

followers. Their favorite foods, routines,

silly and goofy moments are pieces

of content, which lead to more

collaborations, contracts and

surprise- surprise money!

Needless to say, families take

advantage of those deals, living quite

luxurious lives, while kids don’t give

their consent to anything.

More than usual, those mothers and

families support that they will give

that money to their kids when

they are officially adults.

This phrase is a reasonable

incentive for parents nowadays.

Making money by doing the

bare minimum; record your child

and share personal moments

and information. Hence, your kid will

have a lot of money when he/she reaches

18 years old and will be

ready to do a quite affluent kick off..

However, every photo, video and piece of

data will be there, without their

permission. We are the first generation

of this non-boundary recording of kids,

so psychological results aren’t

available yet. I am very curious

to watch how those kids will treat

their parents when they realize

what happened all those years past.

Most importantly, I am pretty curious

to see, when they grow up,

the psychological effects on them,

while as children they were affecting

other families around them.
