Winter-season of snacks & knacks

<bora> by maxifern

Why do we take cover from the rain?

What is it that makes us dread getting wet?

Dry or moist, ripe or rot

a drop more, a drop less can make

a huge difference.

Your <bora count> matters.

The sudden, critical exposure to no hiding place,

no more avoiding.

The cataclysmic domino effect of being faced with the truth

while you kept suppressing it, denying it to yourself,

to others, to that <someone> can sink you into

deep waters and keep you there for way too long!

It can drown you!

Yes! Just one drop less or more of sincerity can

take you far away from what once you took for granted,

shake your world of false securities..

Your practical skills, your equipment, your bank account?

Useless now! Nothing seems to be working!

You can’t tell where, when and who to trust!

Your intuition, imagination and vigor get dampened..

It feels like flying in the water, like swimming in the sky..

You can pretend all you want that you can manage for

as long as your ego-smart-meter allows you to..

But sooner than later, you will be caught going

round and round endlessly the wheel of

<the boro> this, <the boro> that..

You will be trapped amid the wildest <bora> unprepared..

Shifting your energy from an acrobat to clown,

form a fanatic to spiritual guru.

Playing roles you can't recall, opting for and not always

for an Oscar that’s for sure!

Rarely feeling yourself..

And all you had to do, all you have to do is

to calculate your heart space;

how many drops of truth you can host,

estimate your ego coordinates,

apply some basic quality control to your feelings,

so when <bora> hits, you are confident, you trust your gut

and you either remain right at the centre of < bora>

get really soaked and laugh it off later,

or run away from it to find cover till next time.

I remember people including myself, responding

shamelessly, repetitively; <the boro> when faced

with criticism, challenges or even threats!

Now, I treasure, perhaps more than any other affirmation,

my response to every <the boro> with <bora>!

<the boro>: from the Greek I can’t/can not do this

<bora>: a) from the imperative of the verb <boro>

              b) the sudden, quick down-pouring of rain

*c) when you eventually made up your mind

it is enough with the snacking and

you are ready for a main meal regularly

                  and a dessert too!

 * when you stop pretending and start deserving
